Two About His Work

... is the dynamic team of Janet Thompson and her daughter, Kim Mancini

JANET THOMPSON, founder and Director of AHW MINISTRIES, also known as 'About His Work Ministries' is an author and speaker on topics relevant to today's Christian women. Answering a 'Feed My sheep' call from the Lord in 1995, Janet has been 'about His work' starting and leading the Woman To Woman Mentoring Ministry at Saddle back Church in Lake Forest, California. Today, Woman to Woman Mentoring continues to grow as thousands of women experience the blessings of participating in one-on-one encouraging and supporting spiritual friendships at Saddleback Church and churches around the world. To share the Saddleback ministry, Janet authored a Leader Kit published by Life Way Christian Press titled Women To Womam Mentoring How To Start, Grow, and Maintain A Mentoring ministry. Churches use these resources to duplicate the Woman to Woman Mentoring model for their women. Janet also authored a Bible Study Series Mentoring Gods Way available through AHW Ministries. Her passion and vision is for mentoring to be an ongoing way of life in the church. She challenges Christian women that mentoring is not an option but a command from the Lord. Each generation is to teach and train the next generation the godly life they were taught. Janet has a Bachelors of Science in Food Administration from California Polytechnic University, a Masters in Business Administration from Cal Lutheran University, and a Masters of Arts in Christian Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary. She and her husband Dave have four married children and ten grandchildren, and they are enjoying the season of life known as "empty nest," or as Janet calls it "Parent's Time To Rest." They make their home in Lake Forest, California

JANET AND KIM TOGETHER ABOUT HIS WORK

Our Story

Hear Janet and Kim relate how the prodigal daughter syndrome has plagued their family down through the generations, and how they have partnered together with God to stop prodigal wanderings from continuing to the next generation—Kim’s family—and beyond.

Praying With Purpose for Your Daughter

It is so difficult not to pray “My will be done” instead of “Thy will be done” in my daughter’s life. Learn how to pray daily, biblically, expectantly, persistently, sacrificially, unceasingly, and thankfully as a couple and family, and how to break generational family sins.

Living Life with Your Prodigal Daughter

Having a prodigal daughter affects the whole family, but life must go on while you pray for God to bring her back. Explore what defines a prodigal daughter, and how to set healthy boundaries, resolve conflict, accept a “new normal,” confront our own mistakes, support each other, and have a marriage that survives and thrives.

Nurturing the Mother-Daughter Relationship

One of the most elusive and yet precious relationships God has gifted us with is that of a mother and daughter. Janet and Kim had their difficult times, and yet today, Kim calls her mother her best friend. Come hear how God helped this mother and former prodigal daughter maintain a relationship that actually has gotten sweeter with age as they share with you openly and vulnerably what helped them, and hopefully,
will help you too!
